Global Village – Central Plaza Lighting Show Installation

Permanent Synchronized Lighting Show Design & Installation for a Landmark Entertainment Destination.

Global Village in Dubai is a large-scale, seasonal, multi-use entertainment destination operating annually over a six-month period, accommodating millions of visitors per season across more than 30 international pavilions, retail outlets, performance stages, and amusement attractions.

Oasis Enterprises was engaged to design and implement a permanent, centrally controlled lighting installation capable of delivering a synchronized, repeatable 3–5-minute show sequence throughout operational hours, integrating seamlessly into the site’s architectural and entertainment environment. Delivered scope included:

• A full lighting design developed using Depence 3D previsualization software, built from the park’s CAD floor plan, incorporating high-output beam fixtures (sky trackers) for long-throw aerial effects and dynamic feature lighting around the central flagpole as the show’s focal point
• A centralized control and show automation system with single-point trigger operation, pre-programmed timecode-synchronized sequences, and integration with the park’s existing PA system for audio-triggered synchronization
• Full creative and technical programming of show content, including custom-composed audio tracks and previsualization-validated beam coverage and sightlines across multiple visitor viewing zones
• Custom rigging design coordinated with structural and civil teams, IP65-rated outdoor fixtures, and protected underground and overhead cable routing compliant with IEC and UAE municipality/civil defense standards
• Full commissioning including point-to-point control channel verification, load testing, and emergency shutdown safety testing, along with operational training and documentation for on-site personnel

The installation was engineered to withstand a demanding outdoor environment — high ambient temperatures, dust exposure, and continuous daily operation — while managing high-density pedestrian crowd flow and the aviation/safety considerations of high-intensity sky beams through emergency shutdown controls, zoning logic, and coordination with local authorities. The result is a fully automated, low-maintenance show requiring no dedicated operator beyond initial trigger, with built-in redundancy and fail-safe mechanisms ensuring stable daily operation across the full season.

The completed installation transformed Global Village’s central plaza into the experiential core of the site, with the Entertainment Director praising the team’s creativity, technical expertise, and pragmatic approach in delivering the centerpiece show for the destination’s 30th season.
