Production & House Lighting Systems for a High-Frequency Theme Park Performance Venue.

The Raj Mahal Theatre is a purpose-built, 856-seat indoor performance venue located within the Bollywood Parks zone of Dubai Parks and Resorts (DPR). Designed to emulate the architectural language of a traditional Indian royal palace, the theatre integrates contemporary stage engineering systems to support a diverse range of live performances, serving as a key entertainment anchor supporting high frequency daily shows in a demanding theme park environment.

Oasis Enterprises was engaged to deliver a complete Production Lighting and House/Work Lighting solution, encompassing design coordination, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning. Delivered scope included:

• A distributed dimming and power control architecture supporting both conventional and intelligent fixtures, with load balanced across phases for system stability and electrical compliance
• A DMX512-A and Ethernet-based lighting control network with redundancy built in to minimize signal failure risk during live performances
• A comprehensive fixture package spanning LED profiles, moving heads, wash lights, and effect fixtures, selected for lumen output, color rendering, and beam flexibility across theatrical and concert applications
• Rigging-integrated lighting positions coordinated for optimal coverage, maintenance access, and load-bearing compliance
• Centralized architectural lighting controls with programmable presets for seamless transitions between show, pre-show, intermission, and maintenance modes, integrated with the venue’s life safety network for emergency override
• Full system integration across production lighting, architectural controls, stage management, and electrical infrastructure, with clearly defined control hierarchies to prevent operational conflicts

The project navigated several complex challenges, including concealing cable management and custom fixture mounting within the theatre’s ornate, palace-inspired architecture without compromising visual impact, and selecting industrial-grade components able to withstand the rapid changeovers and continuous daily operation of a high-throughput theme park venue. Extensive multidisciplinary coordination across theatre consultants, MEP, architectural, and rigging specialists ensured a clash-free, phased installation.

The completed system delivers full operational flexibility, supporting everything from scripted theatrical performances to dynamic live concerts without significant reconfiguration, alongside energy-efficient LED technology and full compliance with international standards.
